BLACK SCARS Print Edition, “The Walking Dead”, and Other Crap

Wow, what a week!  Thanks to everyone who has participated in my various giveaways (check the Home Page if you’re not sure what I’m talking about).  BLOOD SKIES is soaring high on the Kindle charts at the moment, cracking the top 4,000 for the first time ever and even making it onto the Top 100 Epic Fantasy list — WOOT!  (Books 2 and 3 aren’t faring quite as well, but that’s to be expected.  People evidently want to see if the first book in the series is any good before they commit to more.  Silly people.)

While it’s not quite officially ready (that is to say, the Amazon folks are still posting up some details and fixing some issues I’ve pointed out to them), the print edition of BLACK SCARS is available in paperback if anyone is interested in getting a copy.  I’ve seen the proofs, and they look AMAZING!  Grab a copy here!

 

 

 

 

 

THE WALKING DEAD

I finally managed to catch up on the second half of Season 2 of The Walking Dead.  Wow.  If you’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about.  If not, I don’t want to give anything away, except to say that fans of the graphic novels will not be disappointed.  The screenwriters did a nice job of mixing things up just enough to make it work as a television show without losing the heart and soul of their source material.

Oh, and then there was that scene with Michonne at the end.  Hell.  Yes.  

But some people just don’t care for the show as much as I do.  Some of these folks might tell you why the show is bad in a somewhat blase fashion, but others will entertain the hell out of you telling how much they think it sucks.  One such individual is Indie Author Alan Edwards, whose graced this site before with his particular brand of insanity.  Alan has been writing reviews of each episode of Season 2 as they’ve come out, and while I may not understand his hate, I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that his reviews are some of the funniest damn things you’ll ever read on the internet.  Hop over to the Reviews page on his site.  You may have to scroll for a bit to find all of the episodes (his other reviews are equally vitriolic and side-splitting, BTW), but it’ll be worth your time, I guarantee it.  If they’re not the funniest articles you’ve ever read, I’ll have you speak with Michonne…

ON THE HORIZON (aka “The Other Crap”)

Next week I’ve got a 2-part feature about The Revengers, a diabolic background presence in the BLOOD SKIES novels, and one of the primary antagonist groups in Book 4, CROWN OF ASH (being written, uh…now).  So be sure to check back for Danica Black’s detailed report on her former employers.
